Roberta D. Payne, 74, passed peacefully surrounded by loving family on April 14, 2025, at Garden Place Healthcare. Born on May 15, 1950 in Fall River, MA she was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Virginia R. (Borden) Payne. Roberta is survived by her son, James Payne, and his wife Christina Robin Payne, as well as her son Timothy Taylor. Roberta was a proud grandmother to Nicholas, Alex, and Gwen, and she was blessed with five great-grandchildren.

Roberta was a woman of great intellect and passion, having graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with a degree in Botany. Her love for nature was evident in every aspect of her life—she had an exceptional talent for nurturing plants and an abiding affection for animals, especially dogs. Her love for her family was unwavering, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Services will be private. In Lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904
